Quick answer: going up Tokyo Skytree costs from ¥3,000 for the combo ticket covering both observation levels, or from ¥1,800 for the lower Tembo Deck alone (adult, online, as of July 2026). Two things the old guides get wrong: prices now change by date — they were closer to ¥4,000 in peak summer — and buying at the ticket counter costs ¥500 more per person than booking online.
Skytree also quietly retired its old "Fast Skytree Ticket," because every ticket is now a timed-entry booking. Here's the real 2026 pricing, the cheapest way to buy, and the rules that trip visitors up.
Tokyo Skytree ticket prices at a glance
| Ticket | What you get | Adult (from) | Child 6–14 (from) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Combo | Tembo Deck (350m) + Tembo Galleria (450m) | ¥3,000 | ¥1,500 |
| Tembo Deck only | Lower deck (350m) | ¥1,800 | ¥900 |
| Galleria add-on (on-site only) | Upgrade to 450m, bought at the Deck machine | ¥1,400 | ¥700 |
A note on the age bands: Skytree uses just two — adult and child (6–14). There's no separate "junior" rate anymore, and children 5 and under are free, including pre-schoolers who happen to be six. The 450m Tembo Galleria can only be reached through the Tembo Deck, so the "combo" is really "Deck plus the option to go higher."
The ‘Fast Skytree Ticket’ is gone — and that’s good news
Buy online — the ¥500-per-person catch at the counter
This is the one that quietly costs families money. The 4th-floor ticket counter and the on-site machines add a ¥500 surcharge per person compared with buying online in advance. For a family of four that's about ¥2,000 extra for doing nothing but waiting in a line. (The only exception is the on-the-spot Galleria add-on, which isn't surcharged.)
There are three ways to buy: the official website (needs a free account; the domestic and overseas "global official ticket" sites charge the same base price), the multi-copy machines at 7-Eleven, or the 4th-floor counter on the day. Online is both the cheapest and the safest, because popular sunset slots do sell out. Entry is by QR code, and a screenshot of it is accepted per the official FAQ — no printout needed.
Deck or combo — which is worth it?

The lower Tembo Deck (350m) already delivers the headline view: on clear days the official site notes you can even spot Mt. Fuji. The Tembo Galleria (450m) adds a sloping glass ramp and more height for roughly ¥1,200 more. If it's your one big Tokyo view and the sky is clear, the combo is a fair upgrade; on a hazy day, the Deck alone is the smarter spend. Not sure at the time of booking? Buy the Deck and use the on-site ¥1,400 Galleria add-on only if the weather cooperates — it's the one on-site purchase that doesn't carry the ¥500 surcharge.
If you're comparing Tokyo's viewpoints, our guides to SHIBUYA SKY tickets and Tokyo Tower cover the other two big decks — Skytree is the tallest and most distant from the center, the other two put you closer to the city itself.
Getting there, hours and the rules that catch people out

Skytree sits above Tokyo Skytree Station (Tobu line) and Oshiage Station (Tokyo Metro / Toei / Keisei); from Oshiage's B3F you head up to the 4th-floor entrance. As of July 2026 it's open daily 9:00 AM–10:00 PM with last entry an hour before (9:00 PM), though hours shift by date, so check the official site for yours.
Three rules worth knowing before you book: there is no re-entry once you leave; you can't change the date, time or party size after buying (you'd cancel and rebook, and cancellations cost a fee within 30 days of entry); and tickets can be given to someone else but not resold. All tickets are timed to a 30-minute window, so aim to arrive within it.
