If you are in Tokyo and it is already evening, this page is for tonight. We checked 14 places on their official sites and put them in order of last entry, from 21:00 to all night. For each one: when you must be in, the adult price, and whether you can still get in on the day. At the end is what matters most after 23:00: when the last trains leave.

Tokyo observation decks open late at night

Tokyo Tower: the latest last entry
The Main Deck (150 m) is open 9:00 to 23:00 with last entry at 22:30, the latest of the decks we checked, though the tower says last entry can come earlier when it is crowded. Adults pay 1,500 yen. The Top Deck Tour to 250 m runs to 22:45, last entry 22:15, at 3,300 yen online or 3,500 yen at the counter, and can stop in bad weather. It is 5 minutes from Akabanebashi on the Oedo line and 7 from Kamiyacho exit 1 on the Hibiya line. See our Tokyo Tower tickets guide.
Shibuya Sky: book before you go
The rooftop deck above Shibuya Station opens 10:00 to 22:30, last entry 21:20. Adults pay 3,400 yen online for entry from 15:00, or 3,700 yen at the counter. Tickets are sold for timed slots up to two weeks ahead, and when adult tickets sell out online, the counter sells out too. On October 7, 2026, the official site showed that day’s tickets as sold out. The roof can close in strong wind, rain, snow or lightning. Before 15:00 the online price is 2,700 yen (3,000 yen at the counter), and if you arrive after your time slot you may be refused. A rooftop bar opens from 16:00 on days the roof is open, with bar-and-entry tickets sold until December 25. The entrance is on the 14th floor of Shibuya Scramble Square, and the site warns that the Sky Lobby in Shibuya Hikarie is a different place. See our Shibuya Sky tickets guide.
Tokyo City View and the Government Building
Tokyo City View, the indoor deck on the 52nd floor of Roppongi Hills Mori Tower, opens to 22:00, last admission 21:30, at 2,400 yen on site or 2,200 yen online, and you can walk in if slots remain. It is closed October 27 and November 10 to 12, closes from 16:30 to 19:00 on October 24, and its rooftop Sky Deck is closed until further notice. On October 24 tickets are sold only at the counter. From October 13 to 16 the gallery facing Shinjuku and Shibuya is closed, and on October 28 to 30 and November 4 to 9 the area facing Mt. Fuji is closed off, at a lower price of 2,000 yen on site. From October 31, the Mori Art Museum in the same tower reopens until 22:00 except Tuesdays, and on October 31 it stays open until 6:00 the next morning for Roppongi Art Night. Its new exhibition, Mariko Mori: All That Shines, runs to March 28, 2027; adults pay 2,800 yen on site on weekdays (2,600 yen online) and 3,000 yen on weekends and holidays, and it closes at 18:00 on November 3 and 17:00 on November 27.
Roppongi Art Night, October 31
For one night, October 31 to November 1, 2026, Roppongi Art Night returns to its all-night format for the first time in three years, with art from sunset to dawn around Roppongi. Admission is free, though some programs and museum exhibitions charge. It is organized by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, Minato City and an executive committee.
For a free view, the South Observatory of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building in Shinjuku is open until 22:00, last entry 21:30. It is closed on the first and third Tuesdays of the month; it takes no bookings, and the city says the wait is 20 to 30 minutes. The North Observatory closes at 17:00, except when the South is closed, when the North stays open to 22:00. Both close December 29 to 31 and January 2 and 3. It is about 10 minutes from the JR Shinjuku west gate, or at Tochomae Station on the Oedo line. See our Government Building observation deck guide.
Tokyo Skytree
On October 7, Skytree opened 10:00 to 22:00, last entry 21:00; it says hours can change without notice. The Tembo Deck starts from JPY 1,800 for adults, and buying at the 4th-floor counter adds 500 yen. It is at Oshiage Station. Its site also advertises a bar open only on full-moon nights, taking reservations; we did not read its details.
Late night art and food in Tokyo

teamLab Planets
Open 8:00 to 22:00, last entry 21:00, closed November 5 and December 3. Adults pay from JPY 3,800, but most October dates showed 4,800 yen and up. Tickets are not sold on site, so buy on your phone first. If you are late for your slot, it says you can still enter on the same day during opening hours. It is 1 minute from Shin-Toyosu Station on the Yurikamome, or 10 minutes from exit 7 of Toyosu Station on the Yurakucho line. See our teamLab Planets tickets guide.
Tokyo Ramen Street
The ramen shops in the basement of Tokyo Station close between 22:30 and 23:00, with last orders from 22:00 to 22:30, by shop. Rokurinsha may stop adding people to its queue before last orders if it cannot serve everyone. Hirugao, Soranoiro Nippon, Ikaruga, Tama, Jun, Hanamichian and Rokurinsha list closing at 23:00 with last orders at 22:30; Hirakoya and the limited-time Shokudo Hasegawa (until November 23) close at 22:30 with last orders at 22:00. Prices are not on the official pages.
Omoide Yokocho and Golden Gai
Omoide Yokocho, by Shinjuku Station’s west exit, has about 80 shops, about 60 of them restaurants, mostly grilled offal and yakitori. Its English site says many shops accept only cash, and that some have a table charge, some ask each person to order a drink and a dish, and some set a 90-minute limit; check before you sit. In Golden Gai, each bar sets its own hours and charges; the association says the lanes are private roads and filming on them needs permission.
Tokyo late at night: baths, karaoke and 24-hour shops
Thermae-yu, Shinjuku (24 hours)
Open 24 hours, but the baths are closed for cleaning from 3:00 to 6:00. Adults pay 3,100 yen Monday to Thursday and 3,200 yen on weekends and holidays, including the 150 yen bathing tax, loungewear and towels. If you are inside between midnight and 6:00, add 2,000 to 2,300 yen. Guests aged 13 to 17 need an adult and must leave by 20:00. It is 2 minutes from exit E1 of Shinjuku-sanchome Station, or 9 minutes from JR Shinjuku Station’s east exit. Members pay 200 yen less, and the spa may close for maintenance.
Spa LaQua, Tokyo Dome City
Open 11:00 to 9:00 the next morning, last entry 8:00, with the baths until 8:30 and the open-air bath until 7:30. It is closed from October 5 to 9, 2026 and reopens at 11:00 on October 10. After 18:00, its price list charges a regular customer 613 yen per person per 30 minutes Monday to Thursday and 760 yen on weekends, holidays and nights before holidays, with one drink order required. Members pay 460 or 570 yen and students 350 or 450 yen, with a drink bar. It may limit or refuse entry when busy. It is at 25-6 Udagawacho, Shibuya.
Don Quijote
The Shinjuku Kabukicho store is open 24 hours with no closing day, 5 minutes from Shinjuku Station’s east exit. The chain’s Tokyo list also shows 24 hours for the MEGA Shibuya, Ginza, Roppongi, Asakusa and Akihabara stores, but not every store: the Asakusa EKIMISE store closes at 20:00 and the Togoshi Ginza store at 2:00. The MEGA Shibuya annex, 5 minutes from Hachiko exit, went 24 hours on August 1, 2026.
How to plan a late night in Tokyo

Which order works for one evening?
Go by last entry. The places that shut the door first are teamLab Planets and Skytree at 21:00, then Shibuya Sky at 21:20, then Tokyo City View and the Government Building at 21:30. Tokyo Tower takes visitors until 22:30, and Tokyo Ramen Street serves until 22:00 or 22:30. After that, the choice is a bath, karaoke or a shop that stays open, or the last train home. If you want a deck that needs a booking, book it before dinner, not after.
What about teenagers and children?
Several late places limit young guests. Thermae-yu lets 13 to 17 year olds in only with an adult and only until 20:00. Spa LaQua turns away children aged 0 to 5 and lets 6 to 17 year olds stay only until 18:00 with an adult. At Shibuya Sky, the adult price applies from age 12, so a 12-year-old pays the full adult rate after 15:00.
When do the last trains leave in Tokyo?
GO TOKYO, the city’s official tourism site, puts it simply: trains stop running around midnight and do not start again until 5 or 6 a.m., and at night taxis are the quickest way to get around. It also notes that popular attractions often open late and have fewer visitors in the evening. The exact time depends on the line and the direction, and Tokyo Metro describes station hours simply as from the first train to the last train.
| Station and line (weekday) | Direction | Last train |
|---|---|---|
| Roppongi, Hibiya line | To Naka-meguro | 00:28 |
| Roppongi, Hibiya line | Toward Kita-senju (ends at Takenotsuka) | 23:55 |
| Shinjuku, JR Yamanote line | Clockwise (ends at Ikebukuro) | 0:44 |
| Shinjuku, JR Yamanote line | Counterclockwise (ends at Osaki) | 0:41 |
From the Tokyo Metro and JR East English timetables (October 2026 edition), read October 7, 2026. Delays or suspensions change these times.
What should I watch for on the last train?
Two things. From the same station, the last trains in each direction can be more than 30 minutes apart, as at Roppongi, where the train toward Kita-senju leaves almost half an hour before the one toward Naka-meguro. And near the end of service the Yamanote line does not go all the way round: from Shinjuku after midnight, trains end at Shinagawa, Ikebukuro or Osaki, so read the destination. Tokyo Metro shows timetables in English from each station page, and JR East has an English timetable.
What if I miss it?
Take a taxi, or stay somewhere open all night. The baths and karaoke above stay open, with late-night charges. Our manga cafe guide covers another place travelers use when they miss the last train.
