Nagoya Tokyu Hotel (2026): Pool, Late Checkout, Parking

Guide·October 15, 2026·17 min read·Sourced & cross-checked

Nagoya Tokyu Hotel is a 564-room city hotel in Sakae, central Nagoya, about 5 minutes on foot from Sakae Station. Before you book, five things matter: the pool and gym are closed to under-18s and to anyone with tattoos; late checkout costs 30% of the room rate until 3 p.m.; the airport bus only drops off at the hotel; Exit 12 of Sakae Station has stairs; and parking is 1,200 yen a night.

For the rules that apply across the chain, such as cancellation, see our Tokyu Hotels guide. This page covers what is specific to Nagoya.

Honto check: Every rule and figure below is from Nagoya Tokyu Hotel’s official English and Japanese pages, its terms and conditions (November 2025 edition) and Tokyu Hotels’ pricing page, read on October 7, 2026. We have not stayed there. Where the English and Japanese pages differ, we say so. Deliberately not stated: whether Nagoya charges an accommodation tax at this hotel (the chain’s tax page does not list Nagoya, but it does not say there is none), child rates for school-age children and the extra-bed fee (the booking engine did not load for us), the airport bus fare and time, and an early check-in fee.

Rooms at Nagoya Tokyu Hotel

Which floors and rooms are there?

The 564 rooms are split by floor: Standard on 5 to 8, Superior on 9 to 13 and Executive on 14 to 16. There are 14 suites and only two Japanese-style rooms, each an 8-mat and a 6-mat room joined together (61.9 m²). Most rooms have a unit bath, the FAQ says, and some have a separate washing area; the Executive C rooms have a separate bathroom. Room types include singles, twins and doubles on each floor type, a Ladies Room on the Superior floors, universal rooms for wheelchair users, and suites that run from Corner and Premier to Presidential, Royal and a two-level Royal Maisonette. The hotel provides shirt-style nightwear in the room; adult yukata are not on the amenity list.

How many people fit in a room?

A Standard Twin A sleeps up to 3 using a sofa bed, and a Twin B up to 4 with an extra bed. Superior rooms take up to two 90 cm extra beds, for 4 people. The FAQ says most beds cannot be pushed together, but some Superior rooms can do it; ask when you book. The extra-bed fee is not on the official pages.

Which floors allow smoking?

Standard and Executive floors are all non-smoking; Standard rooms went non-smoking in February 2024, including heated tobacco. On the Superior floors, only the 11th floor is a smoking floor. There are smoking rooms on the 1st and 3rd floors. Smoking, including e-cigarettes, in a non-smoking room can lead to a charge for cleaning bedding, curtains and wallpaper.

Pool, gym and late checkout at Nagoya Tokyu Hotel

Who can use the pool and gym?

The fitness club on the 5th floor has a 25 m by 9 m pool with 4 lanes at about 30°C, a gym and a sauna. From 12:00 to 21:00 (last entry 20:00), hotel guests pay 3,300 yen a day, tax included, with shoes, towels and a bathrobe provided; guests on the Executive floors use it free. From 6:00 to 8:00, only the gym is open, free and for guests only, with no towels or locker room, so change in your room. Swimsuits, goggles, caps, T-shirts and training pants can be rented for 200 yen each.

Two rules stop many visitors. The club is closed to anyone under 18, and its rules ask people with tattoos not to use it, with no exception for covering them. It is also closed from November 2 to 4, 2026.

Is there a massage or spa?

There is no public bath or onsen for guests; the only tubs and sauna are inside the fitness club. In-room massage is taken from 13:00 to 2:00 a.m.: 6,500 yen for 45 minutes, 8,500 yen for 60, 12,500 yen for 90 and 16,000 yen for 120, tax included. The COCOdu beauty salon on the 5th floor opens 11:00 to 19:00 (last booking 18:00) and closes on Tuesdays and the second Monday of the month. The Executive Business Salon is also closed to anyone under 18.

Can children swim at all?

Only with the 2-hour private pool plan, 9:00 to 11:00, for fitness members and hotel guests. It costs 30,000 yen for one person plus 3,000 yen per extra person, so a family of four pays 39,000 yen, for up to 10 people. Children cannot swim alone: one adult aged 18 or over can bring up to two children. Babies in diapers cannot use the pool, and caps are required. For other hotels, see our hotel pool fees guide.

How much is late checkout?

Ask in advance. The FAQ, in both English and Japanese, charges 30% of the basic room rate until 15:00, 50% until 18:00 and 100% after that, and the Japanese terms say the same. But the English version of the terms says one quarter until 15:00 and one half until 18:00, so confirm the rate at the desk. The official pages give no general early check-in fee. Our late checkout guide compares other hotels.

From Sakae Station

The hotel is about 5 minutes on foot from Exit 12 of Sakae Station on the Higashiyama and Meijo subway lines. The official route has you leave by the east gate (Higashiyama line) or south gate (Meijo line), walk straight along the underground mall to Exit 12, and climb the stairs to Hirokoji Street. With heavy bags, the hotel describes a second route with elevators and escalators through the Chunichi Building, but it is not available from midnight to 5:15 a.m. or on days the building is closed.

From Nagoya Station and the airport

The official pages give no train route from Nagoya Station; the FAQ says a taxi takes about 20 minutes, depending on traffic. From Chubu Centrair International Airport, the Centrair Limousine bus needs no reservation, but the hotel is a drop-off stop only: to go back to the airport, board at stop 9 at Sakae Oasis 21. The hotel notes that the Meitetsu mu-SKY train needs a special car ticket on top of the fare. A bus also runs from Nagoya Airfield (Komaki) without reservation. See our Nagoya map for the layout of the city.

Parking

The garage on B1 and B2 has 300 spaces and is open 24 hours. Hotel guests pay 1,200 yen per car per night, first come, no reservation; you can park before 15:00 on arrival day and until 15:00 on checkout day at no extra charge, then 400 yen per 30 minutes. Executive-floor guests park free until 15:00 on checkout day. Check your car’s height: the access page says up to 2 m and the stay page says up to 2.1 m.

Breakfast at Nagoya Tokyu Hotel

The buffet at Montmartre opens 6:30 to 10:30 (last order 10:00), per the breakfast page; the FAQ gives 7:00 as the start, so check on the day. Prices include the 13% service charge and 10% tax: 4,000 yen for adults, 2,200 yen for elementary school children, 1,100 yen for younger children, and free under 4. A continental breakfast is 2,600 yen. The buffet includes Nagoya dishes such as ogura toast, tebasaki wings, miso katsu, ankake pasta, kishimen and unagi mabushi; for the eel dish, see our hitsumabushi guide. Breakfast cannot be reserved. The hotel also says it does not accept bookings made through AutoReserve, an AI booking service.

For allergies, tell the hotel in advance; the FAQ warns that food is cooked in the same kitchen as other dishes, so it is not fully allergy-free. The official pages do not mention vegetarian or halal meals. You cannot enter the restaurants in nightwear, pajamas, yukata or slippers. Of the other restaurants, Loire does not admit children below elementary school age, and Fontana di Trevi does not admit anyone under 20. The Chinese restaurant Nankoku Shuka closes on several days in October and November 2026, including October 14, and room service from its menu stops on those days too, so check the hotel’s notices if you plan to eat there.

Families at Nagoya Tokyu Hotel

Do young children stay free?

Preschool children who share a bed with an adult stay free, up to two per room in the A and B type rooms. Rates for older children are on the booking engine, which we could not read. See our guide to children’s rates in Japanese hotels to compare.

What can you borrow for a baby?

The hotel lends items free, subject to stock: a baby cot (under 1), bed guards, children’s pajamas and yukata, a step stool, a toilet seat, a diaper bin and a microwave bottle sterilizer. Ask when you book. It does not provide diapers or baby food. It can arrange an outside babysitter for your room.

Booking, payment and house rules

What is the cancellation policy?

For bookings of up to 9 people: 100% for a no-show, a cancellation on the day, or one made after 15:00 the day before; earlier is free under the terms. Prepaid online bookings may have different terms, and bookings through travel agencies follow the agency’s rules. If you book for the same day or up to two days ahead, the hotel asks for a deposit on arrival. The FAQ says there is no waiting list.

How far ahead can you book?

The FAQ says the hotel takes bookings up to a year ahead, except on full days, and its own website takes them up to 6 months ahead. The room reservations line, 052-251-5922, is open 9:00 to 19:00 every day. The old Tokyu Hotels booking system closed on June 30, 2026, so use the current official site.

How can you pay?

Most credit cards (AMEX, Diners, Visa, JCB, Mastercard, UnionPay and others), the PayPay, d-barai and Rakuten Pay phone apps, cash or bank transfer. There is a currency exchange machine in the lobby. Tokyu Hotels says the prices it shows include service charge and consumption tax, and the terms say tipping is not necessary. Room phone calls carry a facility charge. The service charge on stays rose from 10% to 13% for stays from April 1, 2023.

Which rules catch visitors?

Arrive by 20:00 or call: under the terms, a guest who has not arrived by then without notice, or two hours after a stated arrival time, may be treated as having canceled. Visitors cannot come up to your room, and food delivery is not accepted. There is no convenience store inside; the FAQ says there are several 2 to 3 minutes away. There is no coin laundry, but a laundry service runs except on Sundays and holidays. You can send luggage to arrive on your check-in date, and the hotel ships items for you. Do not leave power banks charging when you are out of the room. Wi-Fi is free. The only vending machine is a drinks machine on the lobby floor; there is no ice machine. Lost property is kept for 7 days, including the day it is found, and then handed to the police, so call quickly if you leave something behind.

The English FAQ has mistranslations. On pets, the Japanese says pets are not allowed but guests with guide or service dogs should contact the hotel; the English reads as asking you not to bring guide dogs. On the convenience store question, the English answer talks about restaurants. Trust the Japanese meaning given here. Two English notice pages, on the service charge and on non-smoking rooms, are only in Japanese.

Who is Nagoya Tokyu Hotel for?

Adults who want a large, full-service hotel in Sakae with a real lap pool, and who can arrive by 20:00 or call. It suits fewer families who want to swim, since under-18s need the 30,000 yen private plan, and fewer guests with tattoos who want the pool or sauna. If you plan to swim and drive, price the Executive floors too: their guests use the fitness club free and park free until 15:00 on checkout day, which saves 3,300 yen per person per day and 1,200 yen per night against a lower floor.
