Osaka Marriott Miyako Hotel (2026): Rooms, Fees, Rules

Guide·October 7, 2026·24 min read·Sourced & cross-checked

Osaka Marriott Miyako Hotel sits in the upper part of Abeno Harukas, the 300-meter tower at 1-1-43 Abenosuji in Abeno-ku, Osaka, with its lobby on the 19th floor. Before you book, know five rules: every room type is at least 38 square meters; bookings on the official site include a Harukas 300 observatory ticket with every plan; under the hotel’s standard terms, canceling the day before costs 20 percent; a 15 percent service charge applies; and the booking may lapse if you are not there by 8 p.m. and have not called.

The hotel’s terms say the Japanese text wins where the Japanese and English versions differ, so where its pages disagree we follow the Japanese and say so, or we leave the point out.

Honto check: Every rule and figure below is from Osaka Marriott Miyako Hotel’s official Japanese and English pages on the Miyako Hotels site, its terms of stay, hotel regulations and attached fee tables, and the hotel’s notices, read on October 2, 2026. We have not stayed there. Marriott’s own site refused our requests, the booking engine did not load without a browser, and the FAQ is a chatbot, so we used none of them. Deliberately not stated: room rates; the number of rooms; the age up to which a child can share a bed; whether a baby crib is available; the price of an extra bed and who it is for; a breakfast price for preschool children; plan-specific cancellation rules; how many Harukas 300 tickets come with a plan, which days they are valid and how you collect them; whether all rooms are non-smoking and where smoking is allowed; any tattoo rule; which credit cards are accepted; whether staff speak English; whether Wi-Fi is free; any early check-in fee; Marriott Bonvoy benefits; airport bus and train fares, and the Kansai Airport limousine bus and Nankai routes; and the time the basement entrance closes at night, because the hotel’s pages disagree.

What is Osaka Marriott Miyako Hotel, and how big are the rooms?

A wide view of central Osaka’s buildings and green park strips under a clear blue sky, seen from high above
Central Osaka seen from high up in Abeno Harukas, May 2026. This is not the view from a hotel room.

What kind of hotel is it?

A high-rise hotel run by Miyako Hotels inside Abeno Harukas, the 300-meter tower above Tennoji. The lobby, the COOKA restaurant and the M-Boutique shop are on the 19th floor; the club lounge, the gym and the business center are on the 38th; guest rooms take up floors 38 to 55; and the restaurant ZK is on the 57th. The English top page describes the hotel as occupying floors 38 to 57, but the hotel’s own directions put the lobby on the 19th. The Japanese top page carries a Marriott Bonvoy banner and calls the hotel a Universal Studios Japan alliance hotel.

How big are the rooms?

Generous for Japan. No room type is smaller than 38 square meters, and every type is listed for two guests except the Royal Suite, listed for four:

Official room pages (Japanese), read October 2, 2026. Rates are left out on purpose.

The hotel says Regular Floor rooms sit 198 meters or more above ground and Upper Floor rooms 240 meters or more. The Club Superior and Club Deluxe rooms on floors 53 to 55 were renewed on April 28, 2026.

Which rooms have an open bathroom?

Check this if you are sharing with someone other than a partner. The Deluxe rooms use an open bath, so you can see the city from the bathroom; the hotel says no more than that. Superior rooms have a deep bathtub with a separate washing area. Corner rooms and Junior Suites have a view bath with a window to the outside and a rain shower. The 38th-floor Comfort Room has wooden floors and, in the English page’s words, “a Japanese-style space where you can take off your shoes.”

What is in the room?

The Superior room page lists a toothbrush set, razor, pajamas, slippers, a hair dryer, an iron and bath salts, with a bathrobe in every room and ThisWorks bath products. Rooms have a fridge, a minibar, a kettle, a Nespresso machine, a safe and a toilet with a bidet. Free items to borrow include a multi-plug adapter, extension cords, a phone charger, a bed guard, a curling dryer, a hair iron, several kinds of pillows and binoculars. Wi-Fi and wired internet are available in every room; the page does not say whether they are free.

A notice from the general manager asks guests not to leave mobile batteries charging while they are out of the room. If housekeeping finds one charging, staff may move it or stop the charging for safety.

Harukas 300 observatory tickets with Osaka Marriott Miyako Hotel

Is the Harukas 300 observatory included?

Only if you book in the right place. A banner on the official rooms page says that when booking through the official website, “All Accommodation Plans include Harukas 300 Observatory Ticket.” The English and Japanese wording match.

That is all the hotel’s pages say. They do not give the details of the ticket, so read the plan on the official booking page before you book, and compare prices with other booking sites knowing that the ticket is part of the official-site offer. For the observatory itself, see our Abeno Harukas tickets guide; for another Osaka tower, our Tsutenkaku tickets guide.

Check-in, checkout and late arrival at Osaka Marriott Miyako Hotel

What time are check-in and checkout?

Check-in is from 15:00 and checkout is by 12:00 noon. Article 9 of the terms of stay sets the same hours in Japanese and English. If you stay several nights in a row, the room is yours all day between your arrival and departure days.

How much does late checkout cost?

The hotel publishes no yen price. Article 9 says the hotel may agree to let you use the room outside those hours, and charges a share of the room charge:

Room used untilExtra charge
3 p.m.One quarter of the room charge
6 p.m.One half of the room charge
After 6 p.m.The room charge in full

Article 9 of the official terms of stay (English and Japanese match), read October 2, 2026.

“May” means it is not guaranteed, so ask at the front desk. The terms set no separate early check-in fee. Our late checkout guide compares how other hotels in Japan charge.

What if I arrive late?

Call ahead. Article 6 of the terms says that if you have not arrived by 8 p.m. on the day, or two hours after the arrival time you gave, without contacting the hotel, it may treat the booking as canceled by you. The English and Japanese terms match. The main number is 06-6628-6111, and the hotel’s notice gives room reservation phone hours of 9:00 to 18:00.

What do I need at check-in?

Article 8 says guests from outside Japan give their nationality, passport number, and port and date of entry into Japan. If you plan to pay by credit card, the terms ask you to show the card at check-in. The hotel regulations add that the hotel may ask for a deposit on arrival. Luggage sent ahead is kept only if the hotel agreed before it arrived, and is handed over at check-in.

Canceling an Osaka Marriott Miyako Hotel booking

What does it cost to cancel?

These are the hotel’s standard accommodation terms, from Attached Table 2 of the terms of stay:

Attached Table 2 of the official terms of stay (English and Japanese match), read October 2, 2026. The table lists no charge for up to seven guests two or more days before.

Your plan’s policy takes priority: Article 1 of the terms says that when the hotel agrees to special terms, those terms come first. Plan-specific policies, on the official site or any other booking site, can differ from the table above, and we could not read them. Check the cancellation policy on your own booking.

Groups of 50 or more are arranged separately. The terms also let the hotel ask for an advance payment of up to three nights’ basic room charge. Our hotel cancellation guide explains how these fees work across Japan.

Breakfast at Osaka Marriott Miyako Hotel: COOKA prices and hours

How much is breakfast?

Breakfast at COOKA (19th floor)Price
Buffet, adults and junior or senior high school students5,000 yen
Buffet, elementary school children2,500 yen
American breakfast5,000 yen
Japanese breakfast5,000 yen
Continental breakfast3,500 yen

Official breakfast page (English and Japanese match), read October 2, 2026. Prices include consumption tax and the 15% service charge.

Breakfast runs 6:30 to 10:00 for both the buffet and the set menus, in a live-kitchen restaurant with 204 seats about 100 meters above the ground. The hotel describes its Japanese dishes, such as simmered vegetables, pickles, grilled fish and rolled omelet, as popular with overseas guests. The page gives no price for preschool children, so ask. Compare other hotels in our hotel breakfast prices guide.

Are there other places to eat breakfast?

Club room and suite guests can eat in the club lounge: a continental breakfast from 6:30 to 7:00, then a Japanese and Western buffet from 7:00 to 10:00. In-room dining serves a breakfast menu from 7:00 to 11:00, with prices that include tax and the 15 percent service charge.

Kids and families at Osaka Marriott Miyako Hotel

Can children share a bed for free?

The hotel’s site does not say. The age and conditions for a child sharing a bed sit in the booking engine, which we could not read, so check when you book. The hotel publishes a breakfast price for elementary school children, 2,500 yen, but none for younger children.

Which room fits three or more?

The Deluxe room pages say an extra bed can be added to the twin room, but every Deluxe room is still listed for two guests, and no extra-bed price is published, so ask the hotel before booking for three. The hotel also promotes a Superior Connect plus extra bed plan for families and groups, “Maximum 6 people can use this room”; we could not read the plan itself. The Club Deluxe Twin uses two beds pushed together, which the hotel recommends for families with small children.

Are cribs available?

A baby crib is not on the hotel’s list of free items to borrow, so ask the hotel directly. A bed guard is on the list.

Are there age limits?

Yes, two. The gym is for ages 16 and over. In the club lounge, the Japanese page says children of elementary school age and younger can stay until 5:30 p.m., and that from cocktail time, guests under 20 should not use the lounge on their own. The English page words the child limit as 11 and under; we follow the Japanese.

Osaka Marriott Miyako Hotel gym, lounge and laundry

Is there a pool or spa?

No pool or spa is listed. The hotel’s facilities page lists the M-Boutique shop, the club lounge, the gym, the business center and the car park, and nothing else.

Is the gym free?

Yes. The 38th-floor gym is free for hotel guests and open 24 hours. The hotel asks you to note that workout clothes and shoes are not provided, so bring your own and change in your room. You need your room key to enter, there is a consent form at the entrance, and use is for ages 16 and over. The 38th-floor business center is also open 24 hours, self-service, with coin-operated printing and copying.

Who can use the club lounge?

Guests in club rooms, suites and the 38th-floor Comfort Rooms. It is open 6:30 to 22:00, with set times for tea (10:00 to 14:30), afternoon tea (14:30 to 17:00), cocktails (17:30 to 19:30) and the bar (19:30 to 21:30). Service is self-service, and when busy, seating may be limited to 60 minutes. Up to two visitors per room can join for a fee: breakfast 4,000 yen, tea time 2,000 yen, afternoon tea 3,000 yen, cocktail time 5,000 yen and bar time 3,500 yen per person.

Is there a laundry service?

The laundry service changed in a November 2024 notice: it is closed on Sundays and the express service has ended. Items handed in by 10:00 Monday to Saturday come back the same day between 18:00 and 19:00; items handed in after 10:00 on Saturday or on Sunday come back on Monday between 18:00 and 19:00. The hotel’s pages do not mention a self-service coin laundry.

Getting to Osaka Marriott Miyako Hotel: Tennoji, Abenobashi and the airports

Which station is closest?

The hotel is directly connected to Kintetsu Osaka-Abenobashi Station. From JR Tennoji Station, the walk is about 3 to 5 minutes (the hotel’s pages give both): the access page says about 3, the top page about 5.

From JR Tennoji, the hotel’s directions say: leave by the Central Gate and turn left toward the south exit, then go down to basement level 1 on the Midosuji subway side. The hotel entrance is on your right, just before the entrance to the Abeno Harukas Kintetsu Main Store. Inside, take either of the two elevators to the 19th floor, where the lobby is. From the Midosuji Line, leave by the West Gate and turn left. From Kintetsu Osaka-Abenobashi, leave by the West Gate, turn right, follow the concourse outside and turn left along the sidewalk.

How do I get in late at night?

Night entry: since April 2, 2026, the ground-floor entrance is locked from 0:30 to 5:30 for security. Guests who have checked in hold their room key to the card reader; guests who have not checked in press the intercom to call staff. The basement entrance also closes overnight until 5:00, but the hotel’s pages give different closing times, so do not count on it after midnight.

How do I get there from the airports?

FromOption on the hotel’s pageTime
Kansai AirportJR Limited Express Haruka to JR TennojiAbout 30 min
Osaka (Itami) AirportOsaka Airport Transport bus to Osaka Abenobashi (Tennoji)About 30 min

Official access page (English and Japanese match), read October 2, 2026. Times are as the hotel states them; fares are not listed.

The Haruka time of about 30 minutes is the hotel’s figure, which we have not checked against the rail company. The hotel’s pages do not list a limousine bus from Kansai Airport or fares for either route.

How much is parking?

The hotel’s car park and drop-off point are on basement level 3, with 28 spaces for vehicles up to 2.4 meters high. Hotel guests pay 3,000 yen a night. After 14:00 on your departure day, it costs 1,100 yen for the first hour and 550 yen for each 30 minutes after that. If it is full, the hotel lists two partner car parks:

Partner car parkHotel guestsHours and extras
Abeno Lucias2,000 yen a night7:00 to 24:00; no entry or exit from 24:00 to 7:00; past 24 hours, 250 yen per 30 min on weekdays, 300 yen on weekends and holidays
Kintetsu Parking Building2,100 yen a night24 hours; extra 300 yen for the first 30 min, then 600 yen an hour

Official car access page (English and Japanese match), read October 2, 2026.

Car navigation may not find the car park entrance from the hotel’s name, so the hotel suggests entering “Miyako City Osaka Tennoji” instead; note that the Miyako City car park itself has no guest discount. Compare other hotels in our hotel parking fees guide.

Taxes, service charge and house rules at Osaka Marriott Miyako Hotel

What is added to the bill?

Attached Table 1 of the terms builds the bill from the basic room charge, a 15 percent service charge on it, food, drink and other charges with their own 15 percent service charge, consumption tax, and the accommodation tax. The hotel’s pages do not make clear whether online prices already include the service charge, so confirm when booking. The breakfast, COOKA and in-room dining prices do include it.

How much is the Osaka accommodation tax?

The tax is set by Osaka Prefecture; the hotel’s notice says it changed on September 1, 2025, under a prefectural ordinance. This is the table as the hotel lists it, per person per night:

Room charge per person per nightTax
Under 5,000 yenNot taxed
5,000 to 14,999 yen200 yen
15,000 to 19,999 yen400 yen
20,000 yen or more500 yen

Hotel notice (Japanese only), read October 2, 2026. Check Osaka Prefecture for the current rules.

When do I pay?

Article 12 says you pay at the front desk when you leave, or when the hotel asks, which can include the deposit on arrival. The hotel’s site does not list which credit cards it accepts. The terms cap the hotel’s liability for undeclared valuables at 150,000 yen.

Can I bring a pet?

Not a pet. The Japanese hotel regulations ban pets, except guide dogs. The newer English version also lists hearing assistance dogs and service dogs as exceptions. If you travel with an assistance dog other than a guide dog, confirm with the hotel first.

Which house rules surprise foreign guests?

The hotel regulations say food delivery from outside the hotel is not allowed, so delivery apps are out. Heating and cooking appliances and open flames cannot be used in the room. Do not wear nightwear or slippers outside your room. If you lose your key, go to the front desk on the 19th floor.

Who Osaka Marriott Miyako Hotel suits

The official rules point to travelers who want space, since no room type is under 38 square meters; anyone planning to visit the Harukas 300 observatory, as long as they book on the official site; and rail travelers using Tennoji, with a direct link to Kintetsu Osaka-Abenobashi and the Haruka to Kansai Airport. It is a harder fit for groups of three or more in a standard room, for anyone who wants a pool, and for travelers who share a room with someone and would rather not have an open bathroom.
