Club Kinkei calls itself a training and recreation facility in Jozankei Onsen, in the hills of Minami Ward, Sapporo. Companies and sports teams use it for training camps and seminars, and general guests can stay too, with hot-spring baths and Japanese set meals made with local food. Before you book, three things matter: general stays are not taken from June to September; most rooms have no private bath or toilet; and the website form is only a request, confirmed when the facility contacts you.
How booking works at Club Kinkei

This is the part that differs most from a hotel. Club Kinkei has its own booking request form in Japanese, and no outside booking engine. You send your name, email, phone, dates and number of guests; the stay is booked only once the facility contacts you to confirm. Its notice of September 2026 also says sending the form does not confirm a booking.
When can I book?
Requests open two months before the month of your stay. From June to September the building is reserved for sports groups, and general stays restart on October 1. The FAQ asks that the booking be made in the name and phone number of the person who will actually stay.
Which days is it closed?
The facility closes on fixed weekdays and over the New Year, and on closed days nothing is open, not even the phone line. Most official pages list Tuesdays and Wednesdays, while a September 2026 notice mentions Wednesdays only, so confirm your dates when you send the request. The footer also says that, because of the operating company’s own training, a booking may be declined even after it is made.

Rooms at Club Kinkei: what to expect
There are Western rooms for two and Japanese tatami rooms for groups. The rooms page says rooms have no bath (a few Western rooms are the exception), and toilets and washbasins are on each floor. Every room has free Wi-Fi with a LAN cable, its own air conditioning, an empty fridge, a kettle, a closet and bath and face towels.
Can I stay alone?
The FAQ says that, in principle, Western rooms are booked for two people and Japanese rooms for a group, so a solo traveler should ask before sending the form.
Do I make my own bed?
Yes. Bedding is self-service: in Japanese rooms, you take the futon out of the closet yourself at bedtime. Yukata and bath towels stay in the room; the face towel is yours to keep. The FAQ adds that two rooms are barrier-free and wheelchairs can be borrowed.
The hot-spring baths at Club Kinkei

The building has a bath in the basement of the main wing and a view bath on the 2nd floor. The water is a sodium chloride spring at around 70°C at the source, clear and odorless. The men’s and women’s sides may swap on some days.
When are the baths open?
From 15:00 to 22:00 and from 6:00 to 9:00, and the facility asks guests not to bathe outside those hours. There is no day-visitor bathing, and the official pages do not mention a private bath or an outdoor bath. Hair dryers are in the changing rooms.
Can I bathe with a tattoo?
The official pages do not mention tattoos. Ask the facility before you book; our tattoo and onsen guide explains what to ask.
Meals at Club Kinkei
What are dinner and breakfast like?
Meals are a Japanese set meal in the 1st-floor dining room, using seasonal and local Hokkaido food. The head chef draws on experience in both Japanese and French cooking. Breakfast is from 7:00 to 9:00 and dinner from 18:00 to 20:00. Lunch can be added for 1,000 yen. If you have not checked in by 19:00 without calling, dinner is treated as canceled and you still pay for it. For eating out in the city, see our Sapporo food guide.
Can the kitchen handle allergies?
Tell the facility about food allergies when you book, and it will change ingredients where it can. The booking page says allergens are prepared in a shared kitchen, so it cannot fully cater for severe allergies. The official pages say nothing about vegetarian or halal meals.
Prices, children and cancellation at Club Kinkei
What does a night cost?
The rate is the same all year: 6,000 yen per adult and 5,000 yen per child, per night with dinner and breakfast, including consumption tax and the 150-yen bathing tax. From April 2026, Sapporo and Hokkaido add an accommodation tax of 300 yen per person per night for rates under 20,000 yen, children included. See our onsen bathing tax guide.
What do children cost?
The child rate is for ages 3 to 11. Under the terms, infants who need no bedding or meals stay free. Minors cannot stay on their own without a parent’s permission.
What is the cancellation policy?
80 percent of the basic rate the day before, and 100 percent on the day or for a no-show. See our hotel cancellation guide for how such fees work in Japan.
How do I pay?
The terms say you pay at the front desk when you leave, in cash or an equivalent method. The official pages do not say which cards are accepted, so ask when the facility confirms your booking.
