Airport hotels reveal themselves in their timetables, and Hotel JAL City Haneda's reads like it was written by someone who has actually taken a 6:30 a.m. flight: free shuttle from 4:00 a.m., breakfast from 5:00, and a lounge pouring coffee from 4:30 in the second building. Two buildings, in fact — 411 rooms across a main building and the one-minute-away West Wing — a short Keikyu hop from the terminals. It's one of the smartest early-flight plays at Haneda, provided you understand the two timetable traps that catch first-timers.

The shuttle, decoded — and its two traps
The design philosophy is "send you out in the morning, collect you at night": hotel→airport buses run 4:00–11:10 at roughly half-hour intervals (the 4:00 first bus serves Terminal 3 only — international red-eyes, that's yours), while airport→hotel pickups run evenings only, from Terminal 1 between 16:15 and 0:45 and Terminal 3 until 0:55. Hence the traps: land at midday and there is no bus — ride Keikyu two stops instead — and Terminal 2 has no pickup stop at all; domestic T2 arrivals walk to T1's stop. Seats are first-come (the official pages warn full buses happen), which is exactly why the 3-minute walk to Anamori-inari is the feature that makes the whole system forgiving.
Two buildings, two personalities
This April 2026 walkthrough covers the West Wing specifically, and it opens on the property's own street sign — the quickest way to confirm you are looking at the Haneda pair and not one of the other JAL City hotels. Japanese narration, but the building and room footage carry it.
The main building is the full-service half: 308 rooms across renovated floor tiers, the HARUHORO restaurant downstairs, coin laundry on the 2nd floor (24 hours), and the currency-exchange machine in the lobby. The West Wing, a minute's walk away at its own address, is newer-feeling and quieter: all-Simmons beds, no restaurant — but instead a free guests-only lounge with a drink bar (4:30–10:00 and 15:00–1:00, with limited fresh bakery from 5:00) that regulars treat as the better deal. Its other headline is the Quad Style room: two 160 cm queens sleeping four in 25 m² — genuinely scarce near Haneda, and the main building's own FAQ routes groups of four there. The one West Wing catch: breakfast means a one-minute walk to the main building. In January, pack a jacket.
The early-flight playbook

- Night before: check in (15:00), dinner nearby or konbini, note your terminal — the 4:00 bus is T3-only; T1/T2 flyers take later runs or the train.
- Morning of: breakfast at 5:00 sharp (or lounge bakery at the West Wing from 5:00), shuttle or Keikyu to your terminal. Total sleep gained versus a central Tokyo hotel: roughly an hour and a half.
- Late arrival instead? Pickups run to 0:45/0:55 from T1/T3 — and if you land at T2, the T1 walk adds five minutes, still beating a ¥2,000+ taxi.
- Know the cancellation curve: official-site bookings run from 20% at seven days out to 100% same-day (main building FAQ).
Who it suits
Book it if: your Haneda flight leaves before 9:00 or lands after 22:00, you're four people wanting one room, or you like the idea of a free lounge with your value hotel. Compare first: Keikyu EX Inn inside the airport for zero-transit sleep, Tmark City Omori a few Keikyu stops away at value pricing, Hilton Narita for the other airport's version of this play — and if you're staying central after all, the district guide resets the whole question.
(The other side of the Haneda hotel decision — the walkway-connected giant with the rooftop onsen — is reviewed in our Villa Fontaine guide.)

Bottom line (2026) — Two buildings, 411 rooms, a free shuttle starting at 4:00 a.m. and breakfast from 5:00 a.m. — engineered for brutal Haneda flight times. Read the timetable carefully: the shuttle only picks up in the evening and never at Terminal 2, and the West Wing is the quad-room building for families.

Official sources checked July 31, 2026: the Okura Nikko brand pages for both buildings, the main building's site (access, shuttle timetable, stay pages, FAQ — including the no-public-bath answer and cancellation schedule) and the West Wing's site (rooms, lounge hours, and the July 1, 2026 breakfast price revision notice). Rates vary and aren't quoted; day-use plans weren't listed on the official pages we checked. Minor official-page discrepancies exist on Tenkubashi walking times and parking counts — we've used the consistently stated Anamori-inari access.
