Keio Plaza Hotel Tokyo is the big twin-tower hotel in west Shinjuku, next to the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building and five minutes underground from JR Shinjuku’s west exit. It is one of the most-booked hotels in Tokyo by foreign visitors, and it runs on rules that are easy to miss when the booking screen is in English and the rules are in Japanese: check-in 15:00, checkout 11:00, no early check-in unless you pay for the night before, cancellation fees from two days out, no child rate (but preschoolers sharing a bed stay free), a free reservation-only shuttle to Tokyo Disney Resort, and a hotel tax of 100 or 200 yen that some plans leave out of the price.
Everything below is from the hotel’s official Japanese site: the stay, facilities, restaurant and other FAQ pages, the service guide, the page for guests with children, the breakfast and parking pages, and the accommodation terms. Room rates are not here; the fees, hours and rules the hotel prints are.

What is Keio Plaza Hotel Tokyo, and which room should I book?

Two towers (the Main Building and the South Tower) at 2-2-1 Nishi-Shinjuku, opened in the skyscraper district across from the Metropolitan Government Building, with a sky lounge on the 45th floor, a club lounge for the Premier Grand high-floor rooms, a rooftop Sky Plaza IBASHO on the top floor, ten restaurants and bars, and a 509-car garage. The main practical facts: there are no single rooms (solo travelers get a double or twin for single use), 13 universal-design rooms for wheelchair users on request, Japanese-style rooms, and suites. Room numbers cannot be requested; adjoining rooms and high floors are requested at booking and given if free at check-in.
What is in the room?
Shampoo, conditioner and body soap, toothbrush, towels, a yukata or one-piece nightwear depending on room type, slippers, hair dryer, kettle, fridge and TV with terrestrial channels plus NHK BS, CNN, BBC, Discovery and Chinese and Korean channels. Every room has a humidifying air purifier and an iron and board; a desk lamp, cutlery and wine glasses can be borrowed. Wi-Fi is free throughout with an ID and password.
What is Premier Grand?
The high-floor room category with check-in and a club lounge on the 45th floor of the main building, and a premium in-room breakfast served 7:00 to 10:00 on some plans, limited to five parties a day. Other guests do not have lounge access. For how the hotel compares with the other big Shinjuku addresses, see our where to stay in Tokyo guide and the Hotel Gracery Shinjuku page across the tracks in Kabukicho.
Check-in at 15:00, and why early check-in costs a night

Can I check in early?
Not as a rule. The FAQ says early check-in is not accepted; where a room happens to be available, the hotel handles it by booking you from the previous night and charging one night’s rate. If you land in the morning, leave the bags at the bell captain desk on the lobby floor, which holds luggage before check-in and after checkout, and come back at 15:00.
Can I check out late?
For a fee, in rooms other than some suites and the Japanese-style rooms, subject to availability; the terms say the charge depends on room type and hours, so ask the desk. Day-use plans cannot be extended. If you want a fast exit, settle the bill the evening before and checkout is just handing back the key card. Self-check-in tablets (Smooth Check-in) are available in the lobby.
When do I pay?
The room charge is paid at check-in, by cash, credit card or cashless app; anything you spend during the stay is settled at checkout. JCB, Visa and UC gift cards are accepted with some exceptions. A currency-exchange machine on the lobby floor changes major currencies; traveler’s checks are not handled.
Can I send luggage ahead?
Yes, once you have a booking. Address it to the hotel with the guest name in katakana and the check-in date on the slip; the hotel holds it until you arrive. Outbound parcels can be sent from the hotel by courier or post, with boxes and bags sold at the desk.
Cancellation: 50 percent from two days out
| When you cancel (up to 10 rooms) | Fee |
|---|---|
| 3 days before or earlier | None |
| 2 days before | 50% |
| Day before | 80% |
| Day of arrival | 100% |
| No-show without contact | 100% |
Official service guide and accommodation terms, read September 16, 2026. Percentages are of the room charge; some plans set their own fee.
What about groups?
Bookings of 11 to 50 rooms add 10 percent at 20 days out and 20 percent at 9 days out; 51 rooms and more add 10 percent at 30 days, 20 at 20 and 30 at 9. Shortening a stay costs one night’s fee. The service guide asks groups of 11 rooms or more to call.
What if I arrive late?
Tell the hotel. Under the terms, a guest who has not arrived by 20:00 on the day without contact, or two hours after an arrival time they gave, may be treated as having canceled. There is no waiting list for full dates; the FAQ suggests calling the reservations desk again as rooms open up.
Children: no child rate, but preschoolers sharing a bed are free
The hotel has no children’s rate. Anyone of elementary-school age or older pays the adult rate. A preschool child who does not use a bed stays free, one child per adult: two adults with two preschoolers book for two, one adult with two preschoolers can bring only one free. The rooms page adds that bed-sharing applies only when the child does not use a bed.
What does the hotel provide for small children?
A crib for babies up to 10 months (not yet pulling up to stand; not in every room type), a bed guard for the side of the bed only, children’s yukata in sizes 100 to 140, a kids’ amenity set (toothbrush, 20-centimeter slippers, hand towel, sponge), extra towels, and bottled water for each paying guest, with tap water safe to drink and a kettle for formula. A Baby Gokigen plan for children under three, in rooms with a washing area in the bathroom, adds a bottle sterilizer, formula maker, baby bath, potty seat, step stool, high chair and diaper bin. Japanese-speaking babysitting can be booked in the room, in principle two days ahead, for hotel guests only.
Do children eat breakfast free?
On breakfast-inclusive plans, breakfast for children aged 6 and over is included; a bed-sharing preschooler eats the buffet free when the adult has the buffet, but pays if the adult orders à la carte. On plans without breakfast, the buffet is 4,000 yen for ages 6 to 12 and free at 5 and under under the 2026 prices. Kids’ menus exist at the Chinese restaurant Nan-en (3,800 yen), the sky lounge Aurora (3,900) and the all-day restaurant Jurin (2,600), tax and service included.
Where are the nursing room and changing tables?
A nursing room on the main building’s lobby floor; diaper-changing tables in the women’s restrooms on floors 42, 43 and 47 and on 2, 4 and 5 (not in the 45F club lounge); baby chairs in the restrooms on 47 and 5 (the barrier-free toilet, stroller accessible) and 2. Strollers, wheelchairs and umbrellas are lent free, in limited numbers. Our family hotels in Tokyo guide has the comparison.
The Disney shuttle, breakfast and the hotel tax
How does the Tokyo Disney Resort shuttle work?
The hotel is a Good Neighbor Hotel and runs a free shuttle to Tokyo Disney Resort daily in both directions, about 60 minutes each way, by reservation only. Book it when you book the room. The hotel does not sell park tickets; buy those in advance, as our Tokyo Disney Resort guide explains, and see Tokyo Disneyland hotels if you would rather sleep at the park.
What are the breakfast hours and prices?
Breakfast is on the second floor of the main building or in the room, 6:00 to 11:00, and cannot be reserved. At the all-day restaurant Jurin the Western-Japanese buffet runs 6:00 to 9:30, a Japanese set 6:30 to 10:00 and Western sets to 11:00; the buffet restaurant Glass Court serves 6:00 to 10:00 with last entry 9:30. After the 2026 price revision the buffet is 5,000 yen for adults, 4,000 yen for ages 6 to 12, free at 5 and under, service and tax included; the Japanese set and American breakfast are 5,000 yen and the continental 2,500. The breakfast page still shows the pre-revision figures in one block, so treat these as the current ones. In-room dining serves breakfast 6:00 to 11:00.
Is the Tokyo hotel tax in the price?
It depends on the plan, and the plan page says which. Tokyo charges 100 yen per person per night when the room charge plus service charge is 10,000 to under 15,000 yen, and 200 yen from 15,000 yen; the service charge is 15 percent. Where a plan does not include it, it is collected at the hotel.
Getting there, parking and the small print

Which exit at Shinjuku Station?
The west exit. Follow the underground passage toward the Metropolitan Government Building (Tocho) and the hotel is immediately on the left when you surface, a route the hotel describes as step-free and about five minutes. From Tochomae on the Toei Oedo line, take exit A4’s elevator to street level and walk about 300 meters with the hotel on your right. By car, leave the Shuto Expressway No. 4 at the Shinjuku ramp.
How do I get from the airports?
Airport limousine buses (paid) serve the hotel; the hotel can book the bus from the hotel to the airport but not from the airport to the hotel. Arriving at Haneda after 23:00, the FAQ’s answer is Keikyu to Shinagawa, the Yamanote line to Shinjuku, and five minutes on foot from the west exit; our Haneda to Tokyo guide has the last-train times.
How much is parking?
The garage is open 24 hours with 509 spaces including accessible bays. Hotel guests pay 1,000 yen per night by taking the entry ticket to the front desk; otherwise it is 400 yen per 30 minutes, capped at 2,000 yen per 24 hours. Vehicles up to 2.8 meters high can enter from the Tocho side, with limited spaces. Families with strollers are directed to the step-free South Tower B1 and B2 levels.
Pool, gym and smoking
A fitness room for guests on the 7th floor of the main building (no shoe or clothing rental), an outdoor Sky Pool on the same floor open in summer only, and The Sky Salon on the South Tower’s 34th floor for treatments, also bookable in the room. Smoking rooms are on the main building’s 3rd floor and the South Tower’s 2nd, heated tobacco included; every restaurant and bar is non-smoking under Tokyo law. Assistance dogs are welcome throughout, with a dedicated toilet outside the South Tower lobby; pets are not.
Any dress codes or age limits in the restaurants?
Only at the French restaurant Meilleur: no revealing clothes, sandals, sneakers or slippers, and guests aged 10 and over. The main bar Brillant is 20 and over. No reservation fee or table charge anywhere; outside cakes cannot be brought in, but the hotel pastry chef’s cake can be ordered three days ahead. Allergies and vegetarian requests are handled with the chef if raised in advance. A 7-Eleven on the South Tower’s 2nd floor, a drugstore on the lobby floor and a business center (7:00 to 23:00) cover the rest.
Who Keio Plaza Hotel Tokyo is for
Travelers who want a large, English-capable hotel a step-free walk from Shinjuku Station with a Disney shuttle and a full breakfast, and families with preschoolers who can share a bed. It suits firm plans: cancellation starts two days out, and an early arrival costs a night.
(How this compares: our hotel pool fees table of 29 hotels lists the Sky Pool as free for staying guests, and notes that its pool page and its terms word the tattoo rule differently.)
