Toki Yuyu Rakuyu is a 25-room inn on a hill above the east shore of Lake Kawaguchi, in the Asakawa area of Fujikawaguchiko, Yamanashi. Its own line is an inn for doing nothing and drifting slowly, like floating on the water. Before you book, three things matter: it takes guests aged 13 and over only; there is no dinner restaurant, because meals come from a club lounge instead; and cancellation costs 100 percent from 7 days before.

What should I know about the room types?
The Western rooms have two Simmons double beds plus airweave futons, and the twins and Yuyu-an rooms have two semi-double beds. The in-room baths in Yuyu-an and Suimeian are not onsen water, the room page notes. The booking page says the lower-floor rooms have no bathtub, only a shower booth. Toilets have a washlet. When we checked the calendar on October 16, 2026, every room type was full through November 30, with open dates in December and in early 2027.
Are there any taxes on top?
The inn’s own notice gives a bathing tax of 150 yen per day; that figure is the inn’s listing. Separately, Fujikawaguchiko plans an accommodation tax of 200 yen per person per night from April 1, 2027, according to the town’s official notice and the national government; it is not collected yet. Our onsen bathing tax guide explains how these taxes work.
The club lounge: how meals work at Toki Yuyu Rakuyu
There is no restaurant for dinner. Instead, the club lounge on the 3rd floor of the main building serves food three times a day, and guests pay nothing extra to use it.
What is served, and when?
- Morning, 7:30–9:00: a breakfast buffet with bread from the bakery Daniel and Japanese dishes.
- Tea time, 15:00–17:00: cakes from La Verdure Kimuraya and drinks.
- Cocktail time, 17:00–19:00: alcohol and snacks or light dishes, such as salad, sashimi, tempura, roast beef and penne, with the local sake Kai no Kaiun from Ide Brewery.
If you want a full dinner, plan it before you arrive; the lounge’s evening service is a drinks hour with light food, not a set dinner.
Can the inn handle allergies or a special diet?
No. The food page says the inn cannot make individual menus for allergies, vegetarian or vegan guests. If you have a strict diet, ask the inn by email before you book.
The onsen baths at Toki Yuyu Rakuyu
The shared bath Yuraku, on the 3rd floor, has a men’s side, Kaze no Ne, and a women’s side, Mizuumi no Ne, with a sauna, an outdoor cooling area and ReFa showers. The inn draws on the Reisui-no-Yu source, a calcium-sodium chloride-sulfate spring that is alkaline. Day visitors cannot use the baths, and phones and cameras are not allowed inside.
When is the shared bath open?
The bath opens in the afternoon and again in the morning, but the official pages list more than one set of hours. Ask at check-in for the hours on your night.
How do the private baths work?
There are two private baths, Tenku, on the 4th floor: Hoshi no Matataki and Tsuki no Akari. They run 15:00 to 22:00, are taken first come, first served on the day, and cost 3,300 yen for 45 minutes per group.
Can I bathe with a tattoo?
The official pages do not mention tattoos. Ask the inn before you book; our tattoo and onsen guide lists what to ask.
Children, cancellation and payment at Toki Yuyu Rakuyu
Can children stay?
No one under 13 can stay. The booking page lists elementary school children and infants as not accepted, and the inn also turns down groups and banquets.
What is the cancellation policy?
The basic information page lists 100 percent of the room rate from 7 days before, and 100 percent for a no-show. Group bookings follow a separate policy. Our hotel cancellation guide explains these rules.
How do I pay?
The official-site plan is online card payment only, with no deposit. At the inn, the official pages list cash, credit cards and QR code payments.
