A passport is not a reservation — read this first

At most attractions, a ticket is the whole story. At Puroland it is half the story. There are two separate things you must have:

The passport — your actual entry ticket, which you pay for.
The visit reservation — a separate, free booking for your date. Without it, you don't get in.

The part with no mercy: the official site states that you cannot enter on a reservation alone (you must hold your passport), and that arriving without a reservation means you can be refused entry — with no refund, even if the passport is already paid for. If you buy a passport through an overseas reseller and never make the reservation, that is exactly the trap. Do both.

The cleanest way to avoid the whole problem: buy the official e-passport online, which is cheaper than the same-day counter and lets you secure your reservation at the same time.

2026 prices — and why they change by the day

Puroland uses date-based pricing. The same passport costs more on weekends and holidays than on weekdays. Here is the official 2026 pricing.

Two things foreign visitors miss. First, who counts as what: adults are 18–64, the child/senior rate covers ages 3–17 (including high-schoolers) and 65+, and under-3s are free — but a 3-year-old already needs a paid passport. Second, the same-day counter costs more than booking ahead, and same-day passports only sell from 30 minutes before opening until 90 minutes before closing. Book online.

Day Passport or Afternoon Passport?

The Afternoon Passport lets you in from 14:00 and saves an adult roughly ¥1,700. The trade is time, not access.

The one-line answer: if you want a full day of attractions, multiple shows and character greetings, get the Day Passport. If you mainly want the evening parade and a relaxed few hours, the Afternoon Passport does it for much less. Because Puroland is indoors, an afternoon visit isn't at the mercy of the weather.

Buying from abroad — both halves

Remember the goal is ticket + reservation, not just a ticket. Two routes:

Official e-passport — buy online in advance (cheaper than the counter) and secure your dated reservation in the same flow. This is the safest path because it handles both halves.

Getting there — it’s in Tama, western Tokyo

Sanrio Puroland is in Tama, in Tokyo's western suburbs, near Tama-Center Station — reached by train from Shinjuku or Shibuya. This is a deliberate day trip, not a stop you squeeze between Shibuya and Asakusa. Budget the travel time both ways.

Tips for foreign visitors

Make the reservation, not just the ticket. A passport without a dated reservation can mean no entry — and no refund.
