Shiki no Yado Fujisan is a lakeside inn at Lake Kawaguchi in Fujikawaguchiko, Yamanashi, that describes its view as Mount Fuji, the lake and Oike Park. It has its own hot-spring bath, a wine shop in the lobby, and indoor storage for bicycles. Before you book, three things matter: room-only plans start at 5,500 yen per person; only some rooms face Fuji or the lake, and the view cannot be chosen; and you lay out your own futon, unless you pay the inn to do it.

How many people fit in one room?
The larger room takes up to 7 guests, and its tatami area holds up to six futons, so it suits families and groups. The twin-bed and tatami rooms also have a washlet toilet.
Who lays out the futons?
You do. The FAQ says futon setup is self-service; if you want the inn to lay them out, there is a charge. Ask the inn for the fee.
The hot-spring bath at Shiki no Yado Fujisan
When is the bath open?
The inn’s spring, Fuyo no Yu, is part of Fujikawaguchiko Onsen; the inn lists it as a calcium, sodium, sulfate and chloride spring. The large bath on the first floor has one indoor bath for men and one for women, which do not swap, open 15:00 to 24:00 and 5:00 to 9:30. The facility page also lists a sauna from 15:00 to 23:00.
Is there an open-air or private bath?
No. The inn says it has no private bath and no open-air bath, only the indoor bath. Next to the front entrance there is a free 10-meter foot bath, open to anyone from 10:00 to 18:00.
Can I bathe with a tattoo?
The official pages do not say. Because the only bath is shared, email or call the inn before you book. Our tattoo and onsen guide explains what to ask.
Meals at Shiki no Yado Fujisan
What meal plans does the booking page show?
Room-only plans have no meals. The booking page also lists indoor BBQ plans with a free breakfast, with dinner on the 5th floor, which the inn says looks out over Fuji and the lake in a 270-degree view. The BBQ takes four groups a day, of 2 to 15 people. The standard BBQ lists wagyu, beef tongue, skirt steak, short rib, bacon, scallops, shrimp and vegetables. The free breakfast is a light meal of croissants, sausage, rolled omelet, salad, and coffee or orange juice. Before you book a meal plan, confirm with the inn what is served on your date.
Where can I eat if I stay room only?
The inn recommends nearby restaurants on its site: Sushizen, Yoritomo for wagyu yakiniku, and Restaurant Romarin.
Can the inn handle allergies or a special diet?
The official pages do not say. Ask the inn before booking a BBQ plan.
Getting to Shiki no Yado Fujisan from Kawaguchiko Station

From Kawaguchiko Station, the lake loop bus takes about 5 minutes to the stop in front of the inn, Kawaguchiko Herb Hall (No. 5); a taxi takes about 5 minutes and walking about 20. By car it is about 8 minutes from the Kawaguchiko interchange, and about 150 minutes from Haneda Airport.
Is there a free shuttle?
Yes. The inn picks guests up at Kawaguchiko Station from 15:00 to 19:00; call when you arrive. Rides back to the station run from 8:00 to 10:00. Parking is free, with 13 spaces in front and a free town lot next door. For things to do nearby, see our Lake Kawaguchi guide.
Children, cancellation and payment at Shiki no Yado Fujisan
Do children stay free?
Children aged 5 and under stay free when they share a bed and need no meals or bedding; the booking page asks you to note them in the remarks field, not the guest count. The official pages give the rate for older children in more than one way, so confirm it with the inn.
What is the cancellation policy?
Fees start 7 days before arrival and rise to 30 percent at 3 to 2 days, 50 percent the day before, 80 percent on the day and 100 percent for a no-show. A plan’s own rule takes priority, so check the rule on your plan and confirm the percentage for the first days with the inn. See our hotel cancellation guide.
How do I pay, and what taxes apply?
Every plan on the booking page is paid by card online. At the inn, JCB, Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Saison are accepted. The bathing tax is 150 yen per adult, free for ages 0 to 11; see our onsen bathing tax guide. The town plans an accommodation tax of 200 yen per person per night from April 1, 2027; it is not charged now.
