Hotel MyStays is everywhere in Tokyo — which is exactly the problem. The brand runs six hotels in the city center alone, and they range from an 8㎡ single above Gotanda Station to 28㎡ rooms in a tower by the Haneda monorail. Same logo, completely different stays — and two of them share the name "Gotanda", a booking mix-up the room maps quietly punish.
We pulled every number below from the official hotel pages — sizes, breakfast prices, airport times, cancellation rules — so you can pick the right one in two minutes and skip the OTA-review archaeology.

The two-Gotanda trap
Read the full hotel name twice: MyStays Gotanda Station (Nishigotanda, west exit, 30 seconds from JR) and MyStays Gotanda (Higashigotanda, five minutes east) are different buildings with different rooms. The Station hotel is the flexible one — 384 rooms from tiny 8㎡ singles to proper 43–47㎡ four-bed family rooms, FamilyMart on the ground floor. Plain Gotanda is 110 identical 13㎡ double rooms: fine for a couple, impossible for twin-bed travelers. Book the wrong one and there's no twin to be moved to.
Pick by airport
Haneda: Premier Hamamatsucho wins outright — the official access page calls it 18 minutes by monorail plus a 6-minute walk, and every room is 28㎡, the brand's biggest standard rooms. Narita: nothing here is close, officially 75–100 minutes; Asakusabashi on the Asakusa subway line is the least painful, and its laundry machines are free — the only ones in the six. Official Narita guidance simply doesn't exist for Nishi-Shinjuku or Hamamatsucho.
Breakfast, konbini and the small print
Breakfast exists only at the Premiers: Akasaka's 50-item buffet (¥2,100) and Hamamatsucho's Japanese-Western spread (¥2,200), both 7:00–10:00 with last orders 9:30. The standard four run on konbini power instead — Akasaka's 7-Eleven is reachable without stepping outside, Asakusabashi's Lawson opens off the lobby. Other quiet differentiators from the official pages: Nishi-Shinjuku has a 14-currency exchange machine in the lobby, Akasaka a free gym (5:00–24:00), and laundry runs ¥200–400 a wash everywhere except free-wash Asakusabashi.
