Here's the sentence that will save your trip budget the most grief: Tokyo Disney merchandise does not ship overseas — from anywhere, officially. Not from the resort's shopping app (residents of Japan only), not from the Disney Store's Japanese online shop (domestic delivery only). If you want it, you buy it while you're in Japan and carry it home.
The good news: buying it in person is a well-oiled machine, and you don't even need a park ticket for some of it. Inside the park: Grand Emporium and the Standby Pass catch
Grand Emporium on World Bazaar is officially the park's biggest shop, flanked by the biggest sweets store (World Bazaar Confectionery), apparel store (Town Center Fashions) and toy store (Toy Station). The catch nobody plans for: on busy days the flagship shops run a Standby Pass system — you claim a free timeslot in the resort app after entering, and without one you may simply not get in. The classic "grab souvenirs on the way out" plan fails exactly on the crowded days you'd visit. Claim a pass early if shopping matters.
The app trap: online shopping is residents-only
No ticket? Bon Voyage is your store
Two minutes from Maihama Station's gates, Bon Voyage is the official everything-store — the resort calls its range Japan's largest — open 8:00–22:00 (hours track the parks) with no ticket required. It's the sane plan for a last-morning souvenir run. One trap: on crowded days entry switches to advance reservations, taken from 11:00 five days ahead, one person per booking — and the reservation page is officially Japanese-only, so have a translation app or a Japanese-reading friend handle it. The Disney Store in Ikspiari, the mall next door, is a no-reservation fallback.
Tax-free and the Shinjuku flagship
Neither the parks nor Bon Voyage advertise tax-free shopping — no official page mentions it, so assume full price at the resort. The exception is in the city: Disney Flagship Tokyo in Shinjuku, the largest Disney Store in Japan, officially lists tax-free sales (and a customisation lab for made-to-order items). It stocks Disney Store lines rather than guaranteed park exclusives — think of it as the place for plush and apparel savings, not for the popcorn-bucket you saw in Fantasyland. Limits, restocks and the golden rule
Standard purchase cap: 30 per item per day — but event goods and Duffy & Friends items are routinely capped at one or three per person, and the resort officially does not announce restocks or when sales end. Payment is friction-free (cash, tap-to-pay cards, e-money, QR apps, gift cards). So the golden rule of Tokyo Disney shopping: if a limited item is in front of you and in budget, buy it now — there is no second chance from home.
