InterContinental Yokohama Grand is the sail-shaped hotel on the grounds of Pacifico Yokohama in Minato Mirai, about a 5-minute walk from Minatomirai Station. Before you book, know four things: checkout is 11:00, and staying later is priced as a share of your booking; canceling is free only until 18:00 the day before; the pool costs guests 4,400 yen and is 18 and over only; and there is no hotel car park, only the public one underneath Pacifico.
This page reads the hotel’s own Japanese and English sites, its official FAQ, its terms of stay and its breakfast price sheet. Where two official pages disagree, we show both and name the page.

How old and how big is the hotel?
The official FAQ says it opened in 1991 as the first hotel in Japan of InterContinental Hotels Group, with an exterior modeled on the white sail of a yacht on the water. The company page gives the opening date as August 20, 1991, and lists 31 floors above ground and one below, 594 rooms, five restaurants and three lounges and bars. The front desk is on the 2nd floor and runs 24 hours.
Is it the same hotel as InterContinental Yokohama Pier 8?
No. The Grand’s official access page lists InterContinental Yokohama Pier 8 as a separate hotel, about a 10-minute walk away. Everything on this page is about the Grand only.

How much does late checkout cost?
The two official sources do not match. The FAQ gives a sliding scale, as a share of the booking price, and says the hotel may not be able to accept, so ask in advance:
