Before you book, know four things: a free shuttle bus for hotel guests runs from Terminals 1 and 2, and the first bus to the airport leaves at 4:30; check-in is 15:00 and checkout 11:00; guest parking is 500 yen per 24 hours, rising to 1,000 yen for cars entering from May 1, 2027; and until December 11, 2026 the Main Building takes no early check-in, late checkout or day-use bookings.

What is Hotel Nikko Narita, and which building is which?

Main Building or Annex?

The hotel has two buildings. The Main Building holds the Economy and Style, Standard and Comfort rooms; the Annex holds the Superior, Executive and Suite rooms. The rooms page describes the Superior as a 33-square-meter room with space for large travel bags, and a Japanese Style Family (J-Style) room with tatami and futons for families. The brand page says every room is non-smoking.

Did a room type change its name?

Yes. From December 20, 2025, the room once called “Business Style Queen” is sold as “Economy Double.” The hotel says a booking made under the old name does not need to be made again.

Can I see the runway from my room?

Not really. The FAQ says buildings stand between the hotel and the airport, so you cannot see the runways or takeoffs and landings, though some rooms have a distant view of flights on the second runway. The hotel has one room set up for wheelchair users.

The Hotel Nikko Narita shuttle bus from the airport

A Narita Airport terminal connection bus at Terminal 1 in September 2010, before Terminal 3 opened. It is not the hotel’s shuttle, which the hotel describes as a green and white bus.

Is the shuttle free, and who can ride?

The shuttle is free and needs no reservation, according to the FAQ in both languages. The Japanese access page adds that only hotel guests may ride; the English page does not include that sentence. Look for a green and white bus with the hotel logo on the side.

Where do I catch it at Narita Airport?

At Terminal 2, bus stop 33 on the first floor, or Terminal 1, bus stop 16 on the first floor. The bus starts at Terminal 2, takes about 5 minutes to Terminal 1, then about 5 to 10 minutes to the hotel. If you reach the airport by train or bus, the hotel recommends changing at Terminal 2. The FAQ gives the whole ride as 10 to 15 minutes; the access page summary says about 10 minutes.

What if I land at Terminal 3?

There is no direct shuttle from Terminal 3 to the hotel. The hotel asks you to go to Terminal 2 first, by the free terminal connection bus (about 5 minutes) or on foot through the access passage (about 10 to 15 minutes), and board the hotel bus at stop 33.

So the first buses leave Terminal 2 at 6:55 and Terminal 1 at 7:00, and the last leave at 0:20 and 0:25 after midnight. From late afternoon they run about every 20 minutes. Around midday the gap is longer: at Terminal 2, the 11:55 bus is followed by the 12:55.

How much is a taxi instead?

The hotel’s own access page gives rough taxi times and fares. From the airport: Terminal 1, about 10 minutes, around 1,500 yen; Terminal 2, about 10 minutes, around 1,500 yen; Terminal 3, about 12 to 13 minutes, around 1,800 yen. It adds that pick-up or booking fees may be charged on top. The brand page lists a different fare, so we use the hotel’s figures.

What time is the first bus to the airport?

4:30. Buses leave from stop A, to the left as you walk out of the main entrance. They reach Terminal 2 in about 10 minutes and Terminal 1 about 5 minutes after that. The last bus leaves at 22:20.

Official timetable, hotel to airport (web page and PDF updated January 11, 2024), read September 28, 2026.

Which floor does the bus drop me at?

It depends on the time. The 4:30, 5:10 and 5:50 buses call at Terminal 3 (1F), then Terminal 2 (1F) and Terminal 1 (1F). Buses leaving the hotel from the 6:00 hour through the 14:00 hour go to the departure floors: Terminal 2, 3F, then Terminal 1, 4F. All other buses stop at Terminal 2 (1F) and Terminal 1 (1F).

Which bus goes to Terminal 3?

Only four. The three early buses above go to Terminal 3 first. At midday, the timetable notes mark the 12:20 departure as going on to Terminal 3 (1F) after Terminal 2 (3F) and Terminal 1 (4F). The hotel’s own text about Terminal 3 gives a different midday time that does not appear in the timetable, so check the latest timetable before you rely on that bus.

Do buses wait at Terminal 2?

Some do. The hotel says certain later buses wait about 5 to 10 minutes at Terminal 2 to match their scheduled departure time there. The web timetable page and the PDF disagree on which departures this covers, so allow for the wait if your connection is tight.

How much is a taxi to the airport?

The hotel’s access page gives, from the hotel: Terminal 1, about 10 minutes, around 1,500 yen; Terminal 2, about 7 to 8 minutes, around 900 yen; Terminal 3, about 6 to 7 minutes, around 700 yen, with pick-up or booking fees possibly extra. If you are weighing another airport hotel, our Hilton Narita guide runs through its shuttle the same way.

Check-in, checkout and day use at Hotel Nikko Narita

What time is check-in?

From 15:00, with checkout by 11:00; the FAQ says times can differ by plan. The terms of stay list no curfew, and both the front desk and the cashier work 24 hours.

What if I arrive after 23:00?

Tell the hotel. The FAQ asks you to call if you will check in after 23:00. The terms of stay say that if you have not arrived by 23:00 on the day, or two hours after an arrival time you gave, the booking may be treated as canceled by you.

Can I check in early or check out late?

For an extra charge, and only if the hotel can fit you in: the FAQ says the price depends on the time, asks you to contact the hotel, and warns it may say no when busy or full. The terms of stay set the charge as a share of the room charge, when the hotel agrees:

Extra timeCharge
Up to 3 hours30% of the room charge
Up to 6 hours50% of the room charge
More than 6 hours100% of the room charge

Article 10 of the official terms of stay, read September 28, 2026.

Our late checkout comparison sets these bands against other hotels in Japan.

Is early check-in suspended in 2026?

In the Main Building, yes. From September 1 to December 11, 2026 (planned), rooms on the Main Building’s 8th floor are under maintenance, and the hotel is not taking early check-in, late checkout or day-use bookings for Main Building rooms. The notice warns of loud work noise and vibration, especially from 11:00 to 15:00, and the passage between the Main Building and the Annex on that floor is closed.

Can members check in earlier?

Until March 31, 2027, One Harmony members in higher tiers can check in from 13:00, 12:00 or 11:00, depending on the tier, subject to room availability on the day.

Does the hotel sell day use?

The maintenance notice mentions day-use bookings, but the official pages we read give no day-use price or hours. Ask the hotel directly.

Canceling or changing a Hotel Nikko Narita booking

What does it cost to cancel?

For a booking made with the hotel, the FAQ says canceling is free up to two days before your stay. After that:

Appendix 3 of the official terms of stay and the FAQ, read September 28, 2026. Percentages are of the basic room charge.

If you shorten a stay, the terms charge one night’s penalty (the first night), however many nights you drop. The terms also let the hotel ask for a deposit of up to the basic room charge for the stay, counting at most three nights. Our hotel cancellation comparison shows how other hotels set their cutoffs.

What if I booked through a travel site?

Then the site is your contact. The FAQ says bookings made through travel agents or overseas booking sites follow their terms, and changes or cancellations are made through the site you booked on.

Did the booking system change?

Yes. The hotel moved to a new booking system on March 23, 2026, at 10:00. Bookings made in the old system (numbers starting 018-) are still valid, but to change one you cancel it in the old system and book again in the new one. The reservations desk is on 0476-32-1133, 9:30 to 18:00.

Parking at Hotel Nikko Narita while you fly

How much is parking for hotel guests?

500 yen per 24 hours from the time the car enters, for cars entering by April 30, 2027. For cars entering from May 1, 2027, it is 1,000 yen per 24 hours. Prices include tax. Show your parking ticket at the front desk when you check in. The English facilities page describes the guest rate as having no time limitation, which is what makes it useful for leaving a car while you travel; the pages do not give a maximum number of days.

Can I reserve a space?

No. The car park is outdoor, flat parking for up to 500 cars, and the hotel does not take reservations: on the day, use a lot showing a vacancy sign. The FAQ warns the car park can fill up in long holidays and over the New Year. Staff do not move cars, so keep your keys. The terms say the hotel rents the space and does not take responsibility for the vehicle.

Do One Harmony members park free?

Until March 31, 2027, members can park free for 14 consecutive days (336 hours) from the time the car enters, including the night of the stay, then pay 500 yen per 24 hours after that. It applies to stays booked through the Okura Nikko Hotels reservation center, the official site or the hotel directly. There are blackout dates: April 23 to May 6, August 6 to 16, and December 22 to January 5; the notice says new bookings made from February 13, 2026 do not get the benefit for those periods.

What else should drivers know?

Non-guests pay 330 yen per hour, and restaurant guests park free for up to 6 hours. Vehicles 6 meters or longer are refused unless a group of 15 or more has arranged it in advance. The EV chargers are out of service from March 31, 2026, until further notice.

Kids and families at Hotel Nikko Narita

Do children stay free?

When sharing a bed, yes. The terms of stay allow up to four guests per room and one co-sleeping child per bed. On the age, the pages differ: the terms of stay and the English FAQ say under 6, while the Japanese FAQ says preschool children stay free, and elementary-school children and older are charged as adults. Compare the cutoffs with other hotels in our kids stay free guide.

Can I get a crib or an extra bed?

Cribs and bed guards are free; ask after your booking is complete. They cannot go in every room: the Japanese FAQ names Style and Comfort rooms, and the English FAQ names Style single rooms, Family rooms and all Comfort rooms. Only the English FAQ gives an extra-bed price, 3,300 yen per night, and says some room types cannot take one. Children’s amenities include a toothbrush set, slippers and nightwear in one 120 cm size.

Is there childcare at the hotel?

Yes. The facilities page lists an on-site nursery that offers temporary care for children staying at the hotel, aged 57 days to preschool, with registration in advance. Its phone line, 0476-33-7871, is open 10:00 to 16:00 on weekdays. The brand page adds that staff can sterilize baby bottles by boiling, and diapers are sold at the Lawson in the hotel.

Where are children not allowed?

The sky bar, Sunset Lounge, does not admit anyone under 20 during regular hours. At the pool, children still in diapers are asked not to swim, though swim diapers are allowed in the round children’s pool, and children 10 and under must enter with a guardian.

Breakfast at Hotel Nikko Narita: prices and hours

How much is the breakfast buffet?

Breakfast is at Serena, a casual resort dining room on the Annex’s first floor. Since April 6, 2026, it costs 3,000 yen for adults (2,700 yen for One Harmony members) and 1,500 yen for elementary-school children (1,350 yen for members); infants eat free. Tax and service charge are included. The English FAQ gives the child price for ages 6 to 12, and free for 5 and under. The brand page lists children’s breakfast as free, but we follow the hotel’s own pages.

What time does breakfast open?

At 5:30, running to 10:00 with last entry at 9:30, which helps if you are on an early bus. Tables cannot be reserved at breakfast time. You can add breakfast at the front desk when you check in, or just walk into the restaurant on the day. Breakfast by room service is suspended; dinner room service runs 18:00 to 22:30.

What is on the buffet, and can it handle allergies?

Chefs cook omelets, fried eggs and omurice in an open kitchen, and all the rice is Koshihikari from Chiba. The menu also lists vegetable curry, rice porridge and natto. For allergies, the hotel checks nine specified allergens using information from producers and suppliers, and warns that traces may get in during cooking. The pages say nothing about halal or vegan meals.

Pool, smoking and house rules at Hotel Nikko Narita

Is there a pool or gym?

There is an outdoor pool open only in summer, from July 1 to August 31, 9:30 to 17:00, and it may close in bad weather. It is free and for hotel guests only. The adult pool is 15 by 6 meters and 1.2 meters deep; the children’s pool is 4 meters across and 0.5 meters deep. The hotel has no gym, sauna or large bath.

Can I swim with a tattoo?

Only if it is covered. The hotel asks that no tattoos of any kind be exposed, including small fashion tattoos, body paint and stickers, and asks you to wear a rash guard. The English FAQ says tattoos are prohibited “unless covered with a rash guard.” The hotel does not rent or sell rash guards, so bring one.

Is Hotel Nikko Narita non-smoking?

Every guest room has been non-smoking since November 9, 2022. If smoking or cigarette ends are found in a room, the hotel charges a cleaning fee of two extra nights’ room charge. Smoking areas, including for heated tobacco, are on the Main Building’s first floor, in the passage to the banquet wing (24 hours), and on its 11th floor (17:30 to 24:00). All restaurants are non-smoking.

Can I bring a pet?

No. Pets are not allowed, but guide dogs, hearing dogs and service dogs may stay, with their certificate checked in advance.

Is there a planned power cut?

Yes. On May 11, 2027, from 12:00 to 14:30, the whole building loses power: no electrical appliances in rooms, no air conditioning and no hot water. Serena and one other restaurant close from 11:30 to 17:30 that day.

Luggage, payment and practical tips

Can I send luggage ahead?

Yes. The Japanese FAQ allows up to four items per room, addressed to the hotel’s front desk with the guest’s name and stay date. Send them prepaid; the hotel cannot accept cash-on-delivery or collect parcels. Chilled or frozen parcels are limited to two, 120 cm in total dimensions and 15 kg, held from two days before the stay, and a suitcase cannot be handled as a chilled item.

Can the hotel hold bags while I travel?

Only if you are coming back. The bell desk in the first-floor lobby keeps bags free for up to 30 days, but only for guests who have booked their next stay within 30 days of the last one. The bell desk also ships by Yamato, and the Lawson handles Japan Post parcels.

How do I pay, and is there a service charge?

You pay at checkout as a rule; the FAQ lists exceptions, including same-day bookings and stays of three nights or more. Cards include Visa, Mastercard, JCB, Diners Club and American Express, but debit cards other than UnionPay are not accepted, and foreign-currency cards may show a difference from exchange rates. The FAQ also lists Suica, PASMO, ICOCA, PayPay, Alipay and WeChat Pay. The terms of stay add a 10% service charge.

Can I change money or use an ATM?

The front desk and a machine beside it change foreign currency into yen only, for USD, CAD, AUD, HKD, TWD, SGD, EUR, GBP, CHF, CNY, KRW and THB. There is an ATM at the Lawson on the first floor; the English FAQ says it accepts only cards issued by Japanese banks or card companies.

What else is in the building?

A 24-hour Lawson in the first-floor lobby sells travel goods, including plug adapters. A coin laundry on the Main Building’s 3rd floor is open 24 hours, with eight machines, one for women only; a wash and dry of up to 3 kg takes 135 minutes and costs 600 yen. Wi-Fi is free in every room, and the English FAQ says no password is needed. The hotel does not provide medicine, and the Lawson does not sell it.

(To see whether you need one: our free Japan plug and voltage checker takes your plug shape and the input voltage printed on each device and tells you which work as they are, which need a plug adapter and which need a voltage converter.)

Which house rules surprise foreign guests?

Under the terms, the hotel registers your nationality, passport number, port of entry and date of entry. The English site asks you not to charge power banks while you are out of the room. The terms cap the hotel’s liability at 150,000 yen for cash and valuables whose kind and value you did not declare, and say the Japanese text prevails.

Early flyers get a 4:30 first bus and breakfast from 5:30; drivers get 500 yen per 24 hours until the May 2027 rise. It is a harder fit if you land at Terminal 3 or need a late checkout in the Main Building before December 11, 2026. Heading into Tokyo afterward? See our Narita to Shibuya guide or our look at the Narita Express and the JR Pass.

(Flying into Osaka instead: our Hotel Nikko Kansai Airport guide notes that its terms may treat a booking as canceled from 8 p.m. unless you give an arrival time, and that cancellation fees start 7 days before arrival.)
