Shibuya Excel Hotel Tokyu is a 408-room hotel in the Mark City East building, directly connected to Shibuya Station. Before you book, five things matter: the front desk is on the 5th floor, not where you walk in; cancellations cost 100% from 3 p.m. the day before; the 25th floor is closed for renovation, so breakfast has moved to the 5th floor; the accommodation tax is not in the online total; and Suica cannot pay for the room.
For rules shared across the chain, see our Tokyu Hotels guide. This page covers what is specific to the Shibuya Excel.

Getting into Shibuya Excel Hotel Tokyu from the station
Which entrance do you use?
The hotel says it is 3 minutes from the JR central gate, 1 minute from Exit A5 of the Tokyu, Hanzomon and Fukutoshin lines, 2 minutes from the Keio Inokashira line central gate and 5 minutes from the Ginza line gate toward Shibuya Scramble Square. But you do not arrive at the lobby. From the JR, Keio and Ginza lines, you go up from the 2nd floor to the 3rd-floor entrance, to the right of the SABON shop. From Exit A5, you go out to the street, walk about 50 m to Mark City and use the 1st-floor entrance, to the right of the large video screen.
From the JR central gate, the official route turns left toward the Keio Inokashira line, goes down the stairs toward Mark City, follows the connecting passage as it curves right, and then takes the escalator or stairs from the 2nd to the 3rd floor. From the Inokashira line central gate, you head toward the 7-Eleven at the back right, pass it and turn right at the Shibuya Mark City sign.
If your flight is late, tell the hotel your arrival time. The FAQ says that if you will be more than 2 hours later than the time you gave, you should call, or the booking may be canceled. The front desk is staffed 24 hours and there is no curfew, so a late arrival itself is not a problem once the hotel knows.
From Narita and Haneda
The airport limousine bus runs directly between Narita Airport and the hotel, about 90 minutes. For the trip back, you must book and pay on the limousine bus website in advance; the front desk cannot book it. A low-cost bus to Narita runs from Shibuya Fukuras, and the Narita Express runs to Shibuya Station in about 90 minutes. From Haneda, the hotel gives about 60 minutes by bus, with late-night and early-morning fares, or about 60 minutes by train via Shinagawa. The Haneda bus leaves from stop 9 at Terminal 1, stop 10 at Terminal 2 and stop 4 at Terminal 3, and from stop 6 for departures at 23:30 or later. From Tokyo Station, the hotel gives 30 to 40 minutes by taxi or about 25 minutes on the JR Yamanote line; from Shinjuku, about 20 minutes by taxi or 7 minutes by train. See our Narita to Shibuya guide.
Rooms at Shibuya Excel Hotel Tokyu
Which floors and views are there?
The room list puts Standard rooms on 7 to 9, Superior on 10 to 19 and Excel on 20 to 24, which the hotel says have the finest views; the facility page splits Standard and Superior at the 12th floor instead. Superior and Excel rooms were renovated in autumn 2025. Rooms named Crossing view look toward the Shibuya Scramble Crossing. A suite is on the 23rd floor and an accessible room on the 16th. The FAQ says requests for a floor or a direction, such as toward Shinjuku, cannot be guaranteed. For guests who dislike heights, the Gran Chic Twin is on a Standard floor. The hotel says the mid-level Superior rooms look out over Shibuya, the Excel rooms use lighting chosen to make the night view look better, and the deluxe rooms face the Shinjuku skyline.
What are the room types?
| Room | Floors | Size | Beds |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard Single | 7–9 | 20.5–20.6 m² | 1 bed, 120 cm; 1 person |
| Standard Double | 7–9 | 22.3–23.3 m² | 1 bed, 160 cm |
| Standard Twin | 7–9 | 30.0–32.8 m² | 2 beds |
| Standard Triple / Four | 7–9 | 38.0 / 38.4 m² | 3 beds / 2 beds + 2 extra beds |
| Crossing view Twin | Superior and Excel floors | 29.3 m² | 2 beds |
| Double Premier | 13–19, 20–24 | Not listed | 1 bed, 180 cm |
| Accessible | 16 | 60.5 m² | Not listed |
| Suite | 23 | 92.8 m² | Not listed |
From the official room pages, read October 7, 2026. Superior and Excel floors also have semi-doubles (140 cm beds), twins, doubles and triples, and there are deluxe twins on 13 to 19 and 22 to 24.
How many people fit in a room?
Triples have three full beds. The four-person rooms have two beds and two extra beds (97 cm wide), so two people sleep on extra beds. The FAQ says rooms for three and four are limited, so ask when you book. Only guests with a room key can use the guest elevators. The hotel says the building is barrier-free and it lends wheelchairs if you ask when you book. Same-day bookings are taken when rooms are free.
Breakfast and dining during the 25th-floor renovation

Where is breakfast now?
The 25th-floor restaurants closed on July 31, 2026. Since August 1, breakfast has been served in the Estacion Cafe lounge on the 5th floor, and on some days in the 6th-floor banquet room. It runs 6:30 to 10:00, last entry 9:30. Prices include the 12% service charge and 10% tax: 3,500 yen for adults (13 and over), 2,500 yen for ages 7 to 12, and free for younger children. The buffet has a vegan curry and gluten-free bread; tell staff about allergies first. You can take coffee back to your room. The chain’s allergy page adds that all food is prepared in the same kitchen and that it may not be able to meet requests for severe allergies. Compare other hotels in our hotel breakfast prices guide.
What about dinner?
Until the 25th floor reopens, the hotel’s own options are the lounge, open 10:00 to 22:00 (last order 21:30, two-hour seating), and room service from 11:00 to last order 20:30. The new SHIBUYA PANORAMA floor, with the Bistro A Bientot, the 8-seat sushi counter Shunsai and a late session called Crossing Time from 21:00, is due to open on November 30, 2026, with bookings from noon on October 23; other hotel pages say mid or late November. A guest-only lounge on that floor has not been detailed yet. The 147-seat lounge does not take reservations for cafe use, and all seats are non-smoking.
Fees at Shibuya Excel Hotel Tokyu
What is the cancellation policy?
For up to 9 people: 100% for a no-show, a cancellation on the day, or one after 15:00 the day before; earlier is free under the terms. The percentage is of the rate including service charge and tax. If you shorten a stay, the web page says one night’s fee for the first night, however many nights you drop, but the June 2026 terms say a fee for the shortened nights, so ask the hotel. Prepaid online bookings and travel agency bookings follow their own terms. The terms also say the hotel may ask for a deposit on arrival. Bookings made before April 19 on the old system cannot be canceled on the website; call the hotel.
How much is late checkout?
The FAQ and the terms agree: 25% of the basic room rate until 15:00, 50% until 18:00 and 100% after, if a room is free that day. Comfort Members, the chain’s free membership, get checkout extended to noon free if they ask at check-in. See our late checkout guide.
How do tax and payment work?
Prices shown include the service charge and consumption tax, but Tokyu Hotels says the accommodation tax is not included in the total when you book online; work it out with our accommodation tax calculator. The payment page lists Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Diners, JCB, TOKYU CARD and UnionPay, plus Rakuten Pay, PayPay and d-barai, and Rakuten Edy for rooms. Transit IC cards such as Suica and PASMO are listed for the restaurants only. The service charge rose to 12% from April 2023. The terms say tipping is declined, and calls from the room phone carry a facility charge.
Gym, luggage, parking and house rules
Is there a gym or pool?
There is no pool, public bath or onsen. A guest-only gym on the 6th floor, 20 m², has two treadmills, one training machine and a balance ball. It has no lockers and lends no clothes or shoes, so change in your room. The official pages do not give its hours.
Can you store luggage?
Before check-in, the hotel keeps up to two suitcases per person free from 5 days before; earlier than that, 500 yen per item per day. After checkout, storage is free for 5 days only if you have a later booking at the hotel, then 500 yen per item per day. It does not take valuables or fragile items, and parcels sent to the hotel must be prepaid, with your stay date and name on the slip. See our hotel luggage storage guide.
What about children?
Preschool children who share a bed and do not need their own stay free, the FAQ says. Baby cots are free, but there are only a few, so ask when you book. Rates for older children and the extra-bed fee are not on the official pages. At breakfast, children aged 7 to 12 pay 2,500 yen and younger children eat free.
Parking and other rules
Parking is on floors 7 and 8 of Mark City West, 100 spaces, at 3,000 yen per 24 hours for guests; vehicles over 2.1 m high cannot enter, and you buy the parking ticket at the front desk. During a multi-night stay, rooms are not cleaned unless you hang the Make Up card on the door by 11:00; stays of 3 nights or more are cleaned every 3 nights. Do not go to the restaurants in nightwear, pajamas, yukata or slippers; the room has shirt-style nightwear. Visitors cannot come to your room, outside food delivery is refused except from partner shops, and power banks should not be left charging when you go out. Guide, service and hearing dogs are allowed. Under the terms, guests without an address in Japan give their nationality and passport number, and the hotel copies or scans the passport.
Who is Shibuya Excel Hotel Tokyu for?

Travelers who want to sleep on top of Shibuya Station, with a direct airport bus from Narita and rooms that look over the scramble crossing. It suits fewer guests who want a pool or bath, and anyone counting on a 25th-floor dinner before late November, since until then the hotel’s own evening food is the 5th-floor lounge and room service. For the view without staying, see our Shibuya Sky tickets guide.
