Guide·October 11, 2026·17 min read·Sourced & cross-checked

Grand Nikko Tokyo Bay Maihama is a 709-room Tokyo Disney Resort Official Hotel in Urayasu, a free shuttle or a short walk and monorail ride from the parks. Before you book, know five rules: children who need their own bed from elementary school age pay the adult rate; canceling costs 10 percent from 7 days before; the hotel sells only 1-Day Passports for your stay dates; the park is not walkable, and the JR shuttle asks you to fold strollers; and the pool costs extra, even for guests.

To compare the other hotels around the parks, see our Tokyo Disneyland hotels guide.

Can I walk to Tokyo Disneyland?

Not directly. The hotel’s nearest station is Bayside Station on the Disney Resort Line monorail, about 4 minutes on foot. From Bayside, the hotel’s map gives about 4 minutes to Tokyo DisneySea Station and about 9 minutes to Tokyo Disneyland Station. For tickets and park hours, see our Tokyo Disney ticket prices guide.

How does the free shuttle work?

The free Disney Resort Cruiser runs two routes. To Bayside Station, about 3 minutes, it runs every 8 to 10 minutes from 8:00 to 10:30 and 19:30 to 22:00, and about every 20 minutes in between. To JR Maihama Station, about 7 minutes, the first bus from the station is 7:45 and the last is 22:00; from 13:00 to 18:00 it runs every 30 minutes. At JR Maihama, leave by the South Exit, go down the stairs on the right, and pass the taxi stand to the C hotel bus stop.

Fold your stroller: the hotel says the JR Maihama shuttle has no space for strollers or wheelchairs, so you fold them to board. The hotel’s English site gives about 16 minutes by train from Tokyo Station.

What about the airports?

Airport limousine buses run from Haneda, about 60 minutes, and Narita, about 90 minutes. The hotel does not take bookings for them; book on the bus company’s site, from one month before.

Can I buy park tickets at the hotel?

Yes, but only one kind. The Japanese pages say staying guests can buy 1-Day Passports, including passports for guests with disabilities, for dates during their stay, at the 3rd-floor front desk from 6:00 to 20:00, or at the hotel counter in the Welcome Center by JR Maihama Station from 8:00 to 15:00. The English page says only that the hotel sells park tickets for your stay dates; it does not say which type or when. Otherwise, buy on Tokyo Disney Resort’s own site.

What is the Welcome Center?

A Tokyo Disney Resort counter by JR Maihama Station, open 8:00 to 15:00, where you can check in, buy park tickets and leave your bags on arrival day for delivery to the hotel; valuables, fragile items, electronics and drinks are not delivered.

What else does the hotel offer?

The hotel says that as an official hotel, guests can enter Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea even when admission is restricted; it does not set out the conditions, so check Tokyo Disney Resort’s site. A Disney goods shop opens 8:00 to 21:00. The hotel’s pages do not mention Vacation Packages; see our Tokyo Disney Vacation Package guide for how they work.

Kids and families at Grand Nikko Tokyo Bay Maihama

Do children stay free?

Only if they share a bed. The terms allow one child under 6 per bed, and the booking site says free bed sharing is for ages 0 to 5. Children of elementary school age and over who use a bed pay the same as an adult; there is no child rate in between. And if you book a 4- or 5-year-old as bed-sharing, breakfast is paid at the restaurant.

Enter children correctly: the booking site asks you to enter bed-sharing children as “infant, no meals or bedding”, and children aged 0 to 5 who need meals and bedding as “elementary school”. A 6-year-old who needs a bed is priced as an adult.
